Over Marina Colonna

De olijfgaard van Marina Colonna is een plek met een rijke geschiedenis. Het landgoed in de bergen van San Martino (Zuidoost Italië tussen Puglia en Abruzzo) telt zo’n 20.000 bomen en is al meer dan 200 jaar in de familie. Marina, dochter van de adellijke familie Colonna, produceert hier extra vergine olijfolie van meer dan vijftien soorten olijven, zoals de Leccino, Itrana, Peranzana, Gentile di Larino en meer experimentele variëteiten. En dat doet ze met liefde voor natuur en product: inmiddels is meer dan helft van de olijfgaard biologisch gecertificeerd.

Ook maakt Marina fantastische soorten citrusolie: bij het persen van de olijven worden de biologische schillen van de citrusvrucht meegeperst. Het resultaat is een heerlijke olijfolie met een gebalanceerde hint van citroen, bergamot of mandarijn.

The origins of the relationship between an ancient Roman family and this farmland on the border between Molise and Puglia dates back to the beginning of the 1800s.
